Chroma collaborators are industry-leading creative visionaries, prolific polymaths—and amazing humans. Meet our brand manager Emily Poole and share inspirations with our extraordinary team.

Hello! I’m Emily Poole, brand manager here at Chroma, behind the scenes and behind the lens of Tetrachroma.

Working with this team is the most incredible gift. Intensely and prolifically creative, profoundly dedicated to their craft, and tirelessly devoted to our clients, they embody everything the Chroma vision is and can be. Reflecting on another incredible year, I was curious what fed our collective creative wellspring.

I’m personally fueled by the work of my favorite women artists. I’m forever blown away by Louise Bonnet’s paintings, both in scale and subject matter. Ingrid Donat is eternally innovatory—each design is brilliant. Tracey Emin’s monumental commission for the National Portrait Gallery in London continues to resonate for me. And I’ve been coveting Natalie Weinberger’s Pâte de Verre sconces since seeing them at Jacqueline Sullivan Gallery in New York last fall. Ethereal and beautiful—they’re just fantastic.

From the intricacies of textiles to the tenderness of connection, here’s what’s sparking new ideas and concepts for our crew.

AT: “I’m currently inspired by unusual silhouettes from designers like Batsheva, Proenza Schouler, and Dries Van Noten. Dries everything, always and forever. I’m always inspired by music. I saw Father, a Croatian alternative metal band, recently and it was incredible. I get my daily dose of contempory art from Contemporary Art Daily. It’s been a great resource for new women artists who are always inspiring to follow, commune with, and support.”

LC: “I’m intrigued by the interplay of femme and masculine energies. I find myself drawn to the intricate tapestries and ceramics of California-based artist Pae White; the delicate artistry of bead embroidery; the convergence of diverse elements, where earthy purples and mauve harmonize with vibrant pink reds; the simple act of gathering friends over for dinner, sharing dishes and stories. A recent conversation with an interior designer friend introduced me to Jakob Straub’s captivating exploration of Rome’s sacred rotundas, which are symbols of perfection and impermanence, captured through the lens of a medium-format analog camera.”

“A trip to the marche Paul Bert Serpette is always inspired. Along with finding unique vintage pieces with provenance, there are also fantastic pieces at lower price points. There are just tons of special finds, which can also inspire our custom pieces—like interpreting found chairs with a timeless feel into a gorgeous bed design.”

“I’m currently falling in love with furniture and art that sparkles with personality, especially pieces crafted from reflective materials like mirrored and glass furniture, along with metallic fabrics. There’s this delightful unexpected glam and sophistication that draws me in. Artists like Sam Orlando Miller, Vincenzo De Cotiis, and Toyine Sellers are my creative crushes. They infuse their works with a special touch, turning reflective materials into a vibrant and personalized symphony of bold elegance.”

“I’m inspired by my community. I have lived in the same town for 28 years now and the friendships I have developed, the friendships my children have developed, the way our community comes together when someone is struggling, the countless hours our community members spend volunteering all contribute to a feeling of well-being that I find very inspiring!”

“I thought the cast acrylic lamps from Objects of Common Interest at FOG this year were fascinating! I really liked how they felt ethereal and soft—they felt understated but beautiful. I also love Jeremy Anderson table lamps. The mix of materials is interesting and makes the pieces feel futuristic yet collected, which is a great juxtaposition.”

“Generally, ceramic lamps have been on my mind. Streicher Goods is consistently catching my attention, producing vibey yet clean pieces. The Sunburst Gradient Table Lamp, in particular, sings to my love of dusk landscapes while maintaining that funky fresh art deco swag.”
